During the fall of 2000, when
Jacqui felt that she no longer met the demands of her collectors,
she began to consider reproductions. By the summer of 2001, she
had signed a contract and was ready to get started. Over the next
5 years, she enjoyed the success of her many reproductions and
by early 2007, she began designing for
KURT
S ADLER, INC.,
a distributor, based in New York. It was only then that she introduced
her Sweet Ol’ Souls, based on the lasting
success of her Fairy Godmothers.*
It was in the Spring of 2000
that Jacqui first designed her Fairy Godmothers and introduced
them at an art exhibit in Ottawa. She knew she had a winner on
her hands and, for the next few months, in preparation of upcoming
shows, she created many, but, somehow, never enough. In 2001,
when she began designing for the reproduction world, she knew
that her Fairy Godmothers would stand strong. Today, six years
later, they remain her strongest selling line.
All of Jacqui’s reproductions
are accompanied with a verse that originates from her studio.
The verses
are just one example of the many added touches she feels are important
to the completion of her work.
